Four blood drives a year are held on the Stanbridge campus. Through the generosity of students, faculty and staff, we were able to save 69 lives at one of our blood drives during the aftermath of the horrible Chatsworth train wreck in September 2008.
“In Southern California, the American Red Cross must collect 1,500 units of blood each day to meet daily patient needs. If a disaster involving traumatic injuries were to occur, that number could easily double.” — OC Red Cross website
The American Red Cross of Orange County is one of Southern California’s leading nonprofit agencies. They provide disaster response; health, safety and aquatics classes; HIV/STD education; the Lifeline program for independent seniors; youth service programs as well as educational and informational presentations to thousands of residents and business each year.
